About this Diario
Movement. Mindset. A long, active, and useful life.
Welcome to the FormaFit Journal, where we show up real, stretch often, and move with purpose.
Stay Active Means:
Daily movement, not perfection. Stretching, walking, dancing, resting. Staying in motion, even when it’s slow. Being connected to your body and what it needs. Movement is medicine. Movement is freedom. This is how we live fully, every day.
Stay Sharp Means:
Mental clarity. Self-checks. Movement with awareness. Presence is power. Discipline is care. Thought is action. Awareness is key. Inspired by thinkers, movers, and the freedom to grow.
Stay Ready Means:
Prepared, not pressured. Gear in the bag. Sunscreen in the car. Backup plans, backup snacks. One less excuse. One more reason to move. Being ready is how we protect the spark. So when the moment comes, We Go!
It’s Not the Gear. It’s the Movement
After some time off, I’m back on the trail sorting through what still works and what’s ready to be replaced. I got new shoes, not the ones I expected… but they were the right ones. This post isn’t about fancy gear, it’s about movement, confidence, and earning what carries you.
Rest Is a Flex: Why I Took the Day Off (And You Should Too)
I didn’t rest because I was tired. I rested because I’m disciplined.Because real movement includes stillness.And when I rest, I don’t fall behind. I sharpen. Rest is a flex.
I Walk Like the Fall Never Happened
A signature quote from the FormaFit Journal, Coach Vida reminds us that movement isn’t about perfection, it’s about presence. Whether the fall was emotional, physical, or personal, this mantra walks with bold recovery energy
Head Down, Heart Open: A Walk Through Silver Lake Reservoir
A walk through Silver Lake Reservoir reminded me that presence is power. From the open meadow to a quiet prayer box asking, “What are you thankful for?”, I moved slow, head down, heart open and I wrote one word: movement.
The Slow Burn: A Truth for Builders and Fighters
THE SLOW BURN
The universe gives the builders, the visionaries, the ones with unshakable core light the slowest burn sometimes because your rise isn’t just for you. You’re not supposed to peak in a place where everyone still wants you small.
I landed in fight position and never really left it. But now I understand the kind of fighter I am strategic, soulful, built to endure. This journey isn’t about whether it’s fair or easy. It’s about getting up and walking forward anyway.
For everyone in a profession of service ..for the teachers, the healers, the caregivers, the protectors ,this is your reminder: the fire is real. The call is real. And we are nowhere near done.
The Day I Gave My Hat Away: Not a Grand Gesture But the Right One
It was too hot. Work has been slow. I wore my wide-brim cap again, washed it, and put it back on but that day, someone needed it more than I did. A woman, two animals, and the kind of heat that makes you give what you can, even when you’re not sure you can. This wasn’t a grand gesture. Just the right one.
Honoring the Sea: National Maritime Day + Fleet Week Reflections
On National Maritime Day, I visited the USS Iowa, the Los Angeles Maritime Museum, and a war memorial by the harbor just as Fleet Week and Memorial Day weekend began. From honoring service to exploring untold stories, this post reflects on strength, resilience, and the people who give themselves to something greater. May we all be lucky enough to carry the strength to offer something and to move with it.
I <3 LA: Walking Through Time on the Old Zoo Trail
Today’s stride took me through LA’s past. The Old Zoo Trail in Griffith Park winds through abandoned enclosures, graffiti-covered structures, and hillside views of the city. Eerie but beloved, this hike is a strange and special piece of Los Angeles history and I walked it wearing my Hollywood cap, soaking it all in.
Journal Entry: I Have No Choice but to Keep Moving
They thought I was done. But I’ve just been stacking.
This post is about moving through the quiet seasons with fire for every underestimated moment, every fake connection, every version of me that wanted to quit. I don’t move for claps. I move because the real ones don’t stop.
All That’s Required Is to Show Up and Move
I didn’t make my 7am trail plan, but I still showed up and moved and that shifted my whole day. All that’s required is to show up and move.
Part Hustle, Part Prayer: What I’m Building Today for the Life I’ll Live Tomorrow
They say today’s work shapes your future. Here’s how I’m showing up, part hustle, part prayer, to build a life aligned with purpose, peace, and power.
From Sunday Stretch to Sunday Stride: A Walk Through LA State Historic Park
Sunday Stretch turned into a Sunday Stride through LA State Historic Park — a walk layered with motion, memory, and meaning. From Metro tracks to monarch weigh stations, concrete quotes to views of City Hall, this was more than a walk, it was a reminder that movement can connect us to place, history, and our own magic.
Statues, Space, and Sweat: What Neil Armstrong Teaches Us About Training for the Unknown
Neil Armstrong. A statue. A reminder.
I stood in front of the Neil Armstrong statue at USC and felt something shift. He trained not just for a mission, but for the unknown. That kind of discipline and vision? That’s what FormaFit is about.
USC will be one of the Olympic Villages in 2028, where athletes will prepare, sweat, and focus just steps away from where that statue stands.
This isn’t just a post about a campus or a moonwalker.
It’s about training with purpose, moving with intention, and staying ready for the extraordinary.
Read how this moment ties into FormaFit’s mindset and the road I’m walking toward LA 2028.
Coach Formie | Power. Pause. Return: This Is What Coming Back Looks Like
I’ve felt powerful. I’ve also fallen off. But here I am showing up again. This is what coming back looks like. It’s not perfect. It’s not loud. But it’s real. In this first post, I’m sharing what it feels like to return to movement, mindset, and myself.
Here’s more from the Journal: movement, mindset, and moments that keep us in motion.
Pick what calls you. Leave what doesn’t. The road’s still open.
