Keeping the House Going (Even If It Floats)A FormaFit Reflection

My life lately? It’s Howl’s Moving Castle, if Howl freelanced, napped with a salt moon shaped lamp, brushed his cat at midnight to keep the peace, and paid bills between bouts of poetic clarity.

I’m working these streets. I work on something everyday. I post. I plan. I write. I walk. I just push forward. By night, I try to sleep… and my cat starts testing the laws of peace. Sometimes I reach for my “gun” (a water sprayer) and we fight like in armed combat. But sometimes, like last night, I call him up I offer a hug, I offer a tour of my bedroom from birds eye view, and brush him calm again instead. And just like that, the moment shifts. The house quiets. We’re floating again.

There are papers in corners. A moon shaped lamp still on from the night before. A book I found that I never finished. No one would look at this and say it’s polished. But it’s alive. And it’s moving.

My job is to keep the house going.
Even when it floats. Even when the work is slow and the cat bites my toes. Even when I don’t know where the engine is, only that it’s me. The fire, the wheels, the lights, the door. The kind of home you don’t just live in. The kind you carry forward.

Keep moving. Keep living. Keep the house going.
