Why I Rotate My Shoes: A Trail Strategy for Staying in Motion
Some days the trail is slow, and so is the work. But I still lace up and go. What helps me keep going especially when pushing through tight days is something simple: switching shoes.

Some days the trail is slow, and so is the work. Today was one of those days. The only offers that came in weren’t worth the drive, and I was waiting on the mail to start the office work. Instead of sitting still, we laced up and hit the trail.
I’m trying a new pair of shoes today a light pink pair I got on sale with a gift card. Nothing fancy, but exactly what I needed. Because here’s the thing I’ve learned: if I rotate/alternate my shoes, I can keep going.
When I rotate trail shoes, I reduce the chance of foot and leg pain, especially if I’m pushing hard. If the walk is longer or has more incline, I go with more support. If it’s a short loop, I might pull out the lighter pair. It’s not just about comfort, it’s about strategy.
This isn’t elite athlete science. This is everyday hustle wisdom. If switching your shoes means your knees don’t flare up or your arch doesn’t ache halfway through your walk , that’s a win. That’s how you stay consistent. That’s how you stay in motion.
This small choice is part of how I take care of myself. I’m not chasing perfection. In fact, I ate 1/2 a donut before the walk. I’m just here to enjoy the moment and stay in the game.
No regrets donut
