This is my full size foldable bike

May is Bike Month, and while I’m not training for a race or wearing a pro kit — I do ride.
Sometimes it's to move.
Sometimes it's to breathe.
Sometimes it's just to feel a little more free.

I use a full size foldable bike. Fold it up and go, no excuses. Here are some foldable bikes on Amazon if you want to check some out.

I don’t bike every day, and I don’t log miles like a tracker app.
But I ride when I can, and when I do, it reminds me:
Movement can still be joy.

There’s something about the rhythm — your body pushing, your mind letting go, your legs saying, “We're stronger and have more in us than you think.”

Why I Ride:

  • Because not all movement has to be loud or sweaty

  • Because wind on your face is still medicine

  • Because staying active doesn’t have to mean staying inside a gym

  • Because I’m building a long, active, and useful life — one pedal at a time

Tips for Easy, Joyful Riding:

  • Keep your gear simple and learn what your body likes: a helmet, water, your favorite GU, and a lock go a long way

  • Ride where it feels safe (trails, parks, I prefer protected bike lanes and bike paths)

  • Don’t overthink pace — just ride for you

  • Add music (a clip-on speaker if you’re safe about it, here’s the JBL that has me obsessed) or ride in silence and notice everything

  • Know your half way point if you aren’t used to checking your endurance so you know to head back if you’re on a bike path.

  • Stop when it feels good. That’s enough.

This Month, Try:

  • One short ride per week

  • Exploring a new bike path or beach trail

  • Pairing your ride with a post-stretch or journal moment

  • Letting the ride be your rest — not your workout

Bike Month isn't about perfection.
It's about remembering: movement can roll with you.
Freedom can be found on two wheels.

No medals.
No pressure.
Just you, your breath, and the road.
