I Don’t Know How to Be Sick Anymore

I was sick for a few days. The funny thing is, I don’t really know how to be sick anymore. My work is just starting to pick up, I finished a side coaching project, and then—boom—I got hit with something. My body was telling me to slow down, but my mind kept saying, “Wait…there’s this deadline, and also this other thing.”

But then there’s also this: FormaFit Active.

This thing I’m building has me excited. It has me looking at my work, and even my walks, in a completely different way. So instead of sulking about being sick, I stacked rest like it was training.

Here’s what I did:

  • Rest first. I actually let myself nap and slowed my pace instead of powering through. Rest is flex.

  • Dosage discipline. I stuck to the instructions on my over-the-counter helpers (hello, Vicks 👈🏽).

  • Stay warm, stay dry. I changed clothes often, layering and keeping myself comfortable as my body worked it out.

  • Old school remedies. I gargled with Himalayan salt 👈🏽, I keep this in my bathroom, and I swear it helped me expel that feeling the heck out.

Because honestly? I don’t have time to be sick. I’m excited to live.

And yet, these days reminded me that health isn’t just about pushing through. It’s about respecting the body enough to give it what it needs so it can keep carrying you forward. Now that I’m back on my feet, I’m enjoying the heck out of seeing my work (and my walks) differently. The view is becoming, and so am I.
